Let's Start At The Beginning Shall We?

Let's begin with the hostess. The hostess is the lady or gentlemen who shows you to your table. Their job is to also seat in rotation so that the servers are getting an equal amount of tables. Yes, it is to make it fair so that all servers have the opportunity to make money. It is also however to make sure that you, the customer, gets waited on in a timely manner. You want to pick your table? Feel free but you may wait longer to get served than if you simply sat down where the hostess originally seated you. A good hostess will let you know if sitting elsewhere will delay your service. I have found customers to be very appreciative of this information.Especially if they are pressed for time......which is another topic....

Who the Hell am I? I'll tell you...

This is probably not going to be what you are expecting...I am a former server and I am also on occasion a customer myself! I have been in the business for over 20 years so I do know what I am talking about. There is a right way and a wrong way to go about getting good service when dining out. I have targeted this "advice" to "Urban" diners because honestly, when compared to rural folks, urban folks are more rude, self centered, and they lack common sense. Not sure the reasoning....that is just my observation. Stay tuned.
